Shaping the work that we do.
We work hard to understand the needs and experiences of people with mental health issues. This drives everything we do, and, wherever we can, we actively seek opportunities for people with lived experiences of mental health problems to get involved and guide our work.
The voice of lived experience is a key part of our work and people with lived experience are represented across our organisation. A study conducted in 2024 which surveyed employed staff, sessional workers, and trustees within Tyneside & Northumberland Mind found 63% of respondents had personal experience of mental ill health (Read the full report here.)
Working together on initiatives, activities and practicalities means that people with lived experience can help to shape and develop our work.
Our new Lived Experience Group is working across the organisation and helping us to grow the impact and diversity of people’s voices.
