How we make a difference.
As a charity with a 40 year track record and focus, we are very clear of our purpose which is to support the mental health needs of people living in Tyneside and Northumberland and help tackle health inequalities.
How we do this and the positive impact for local people and the local communities we work in, is something that we are always proud to record, evidence and celebrate. This is not a fixed picture. As society changes, our communities change and we learn and evolve with our people and partners. Below is a description of recent work we have done to refresh our approach to measuring the impact of what we do.
Here’s how it works!
We use standard mental health tools asking you how our service and support has helped.
We collect quotes, feedback, case-studies and photographs to celebrate and inspire others -always with permission.

We share this information with clients, teams, trustees and external funders.

We had a structured conversation with key stakeholders in November 2023 to review and refresh our approach. The description of this is set out ( overleaf) as our Theory of Change.

We agreed, we exist to improve mental health and wellbeing by helping you in a number of ways. To develop skills and coping strategies, increase your personal resilience and improve your connectedness.
We also want to improve mental health services by sharing our learning of what works with others.

As part of our three year plan we are committed to an organisation wide approach with clients, volunteers, teams, trustees and funders and ensure data we collect is appropriate and needed and we learn, develop and grow from it.
This is an ongoing journey, and any ideas, comments or suggestions, are appreciated! Please get in touch. Email brand@tynesidemind.org.uk
