We’ve moved
Tyneside and Northumberland Mind has moved on from our much-loved home at Mea House, Ellison Place, after seven fulfilling years. This move signifies a new chapter for the organisation, filled with promise and opportunity. Since the announcement that MEA House, located in Newcastle city centre, had been sold and set to undergo a multi-million-pound refurbishment, Tyneside and Northumberland Mind used the need for relocation as an opportunity for growth and expansion.
Despite bidding a fond farewell to the connections and memories cultivated at Mea House, Tyneside and Northumberland Mind is brimming with excitement for the future. The move to a new office space at Tru-Knit House, Carliol Square, just a short walk away from the current location, marks a pivotal moment for the charity and its mission to support the local community. The new office space will be multi-functional incorporating five new one to one counselling rooms, a large training facility and a fantastic space for wellbeing groups and fundraising activities.
Alex Wilson, CEO of Tyneside and Northumberland Mind said ‘Looking for new city centre office space to accommodate the needs of our organisation presented many challenges but we are so excited to get into our new office space. Mr Sunil Vadehra, the owner of the whole building and B.Z. Ltd based at Carliol Square, has done a fantastic job in creating such a welcoming and wonderful space for teams to work and businesses to thrive. Centrally located and very accessible, Mr Vadehra has created a bespoke configuration for us based on the needs of the work we do. We look forward to becoming part of this fantastic new community.’
Tru-Knit House is located just a short walk from the city centre, a single street from Newcastle City Library, with a bus and metro station located less than 5 minutes from its doors. The surrounding area is quiet and our neighbours in Carliol Square include a variety of local business’s we feel so privileged to be amongst.
Tyneside and Northumberland Mind has mapped out every detail for the move to avoid, where possible, disruption to its services. As the charity prepares to transition to its new premises at Carliol Square, ensuring accessibility for all individuals is paramount. As a commitment to this, they have invested in the expertise of a disability access consultant so that they can proactively address the diverse needs of its service users, team, partners, and visitors.
