Who is the course for?
The course is for people aged 18+ who live in Gateshead, with mild to moderate mental health problems, diagnosed or not. The course is for those who want to learn ways to move forward. The expectation is that people will attend the vast majority of the sessions offered.
What happens on the course?
We offer a short 10 week course, which covers a wide range of thinking styles, as well as some practical techniques that you can use to help yourself feel good and function well. The techniques can be tailored by you to meet your own needs.
Topics covered on the course will include:
- Understanding the brain
- Self-esteem and confidence
- Coping with anxiety
- Coping with depression
- Building resilience
- Addictive behaviours
- Coping with feelings
- Managing negative moods
- Support networks
When and where are the groups?
The groups will run on Friday mornings, beginning 7th July 2017, and they will take place at our Wellbeing Centre in Bensham, Gateshead.
How can I access a group?
The group is free to attend but a Wellbeing Project referral form needs to be completed, this is simple and straightforward, and the list of possible referrers is large.
