This week we bring you a very special blog. Here at Tyneside and Northumberland Mind we have a group of friendly, experienced individuals who make our team so special. Without their hard work we couldn’t do the work we do so this week we thought we would introduce our newest team member - Lee Walker.
We asked Lee to tell us a little about the role...
‘I have recently started with Tyneside and Northumberland Mind as the new Community Fundraiser and Event Co-ordinator. I have been involved in fundraising and event organisation for many years and have also worked in mental health services so it was a great opportunity for me to be able to use my experience and knowledge to support a cause I strongly believe in.
In my new role I am putting together a fundraising strategy for the organisation, co-ordinating and supporting all the excellent fundraising that is presently going on as well as creating new fundraising opportunities and planning events to raise funds and awareness for the work we do.
I am encouraging and making it easy for more individuals and businesses to fundraise
for Tyneside and Northumberland Mind whether it’s by running the Great North Run, having a coffee morning with friends, getting sponsorship for a skydiving challenge or holding a family fun day. Every penny from donations makes a difference and enables us
to help local people with mental health problems.
