Helen Lancaster, Supporting Families Operations Coordinator, Northumberland County Council, gives you some insights about the Northumberland Supporting Families Project and why you should vote for us with the Aviva Community Fund.
“Tyneside and Northumberland Mind specialise in working with families where there are mental health issues; they provide a whole family package of support, undertaking a detailed assessment and coordinating services to deliver a whole family plan. They work with families with a range of different issues including school attendance, financial exclusion and domestic violence to name a few. In each case they are able to evidence a good level of engagement and evidence improvement around mental health issues, and this was supported by the data available to us as commissioners.
They have continued to show a commitment to providing quality family support, as well as providing specialist advice to colleagues across the North area of the county. In addition, we have seen evidence of creative work to engage families and meet their individual needs, including involving family members in other projects they run.
Based on the commitment and performance of this organisation I would have no hesitation in supporting them in this Aviva Community Fund campaign and would encourage people to support this worthy project.”
