Be. is the trading arm of Tyneside and Northumberland Mind, specialising in Workplace Wellbeing under the Health & Safety agenda. Our Workplace Wellbeing Framework is an opportunity for businesses or organisations to actively improve the health and wellbeing of its workforce. Our specialist team provide advice, guidance and resources to help organisations create an environment in which individuals can flourish.

What support can Be. provide?

We provide, consultancy, training and interventions to businesses and organisations interested in providing workplace wellbeing and culture change as a structured, evidenced framework to reduce stigma, provide knowledge, skills and support to their staff and lower rates of sickness absence and presenteeism due to Mental Health Problems.

Our Workplace Wellbeing Framework has been developed, piloted, evaluated and re-developed over 3 years. We now have a tried and tested Framework that has proved to reduce the stigma surrounding mental health in the workplace, provided skills and knowledge taking a 360 degree approach to workplace wellbeing from prevention to reaction, embedded a culture change within businesses and organisations with a bottom line impact to the costs related to mental health problems in the workplace.

Our Workplace Wellbeing Framework provides everything from expert Consultancy to Accredited Training courses, Wellbeing Sessions and access to our Talking Therapies Service for all staff and is relevant to all businesses, no matter how big or small.

We demonstrate a commitment to the health and wellbeing of staff which has proved to reduce stigma, provide knowledge, skills and support to significantly lower the costs related to sickness absence and presenteeism due to Mental Health Problems in the workplace.

Why should you care?

The Bottom Line - Mind, the mental health charity, has calculated that personalised information and advice, a risk-assessment questionnaire, seminars, workshops and web-based materials cost approximately £80 per employee per year.
For a company with 500 employees, where all employees undergo the intervention, it is estimated that an initial investment of £40,000 will result in a net return of £347,722 in savings, mainly due to reduced presenteeism (lost productivity that occurs due to an employee working while ill) and absenteeism (missing work due to ill health).

Duty of Care - Mental Health Conditions and problems are classed as a disability under the Equality Act 2010 and HSE legislation means that businesses and organisations have a legal boud duty of care to their staff's wellbeing in the workplace.

Morally - Be. know that mentally healthier people are more inspired and productive and compassionate and powerful. By providing the tools, knowledge and skills a workforce needs to support this change will create a catylist. This will be passed down to family and friends, they will teach their children how to have better mental health and be more resilient, and the effect that will have on humanity is colossal! We have a moral obligation to help, not just ourselves but spread that to people who we connect with.
