This group introduces you to the skill of mindfulness. Each session has a different theme so you can join the group any week.
What is Mindfulness?
- It is the art of controlling your attention in a non-judgemental way.
- Studies have shown that it can be helpful if you are prone to worrying about the future and what might happen or find it hard to let go of situations or events in the past.
- In mindfulness we try to keep our minds in the present moment.
Mindfulness is a skill that requires practice so we meet together fortnightly to do some gentle exercises then we practice during the week in our own time.
Who else will be in the group?
Other people who want to learn this skill, the facilitators will also be doing the practices with you.
Starting Thursday the 13th of October 2016 then – The second and fourth Thursday of each month:
10th November, 24th November, 8th December, 15th December
(sessions not running during school holidays; 22nd December brought forward due to holidays)
